That's how long an 11-year-old girl in Honduras had been trafficked before she was rescued last week.
She was only seven years old when her nightmare began.
Acting on a complaint from the Special Prosecutor's Office for the Protection of Children, agents from the Technical Criminal Investigation Agency (ATIC) mobilized quickly to Yoro, where they found the young girl and arrested her captor, a woman with an active arrest warrant for human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and accomplice to aggravated continuous rape.
Aerial Recovery has been working alongside ATIC, providing training, logistics, and operational planning support to their Crimes Against Sexual Freedom and Human Trafficking Unit. Every life matters, whether it's one victim or twenty-eight.
In the last six months, Aerial Recovery has been part of missions across the spectrum: from coordinated raids against Tren de Aragua in Peru that rescued 28 girls and arrested 23 criminals, to this operation in Honduras that brought one precious 11-year-old back to safety. We take on missions of all sizes because every single victim deserves to be found, rescued, and helped to heal.
The girl is now safe. Aerial Recovery has been tasked with her aftercare and follow-up investigations, ensuring she has the long-term support she needs.
