AID DISTRIBUTION AND CLEAN-UP

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, a catastrophic EF3 tornado cut a path through Columbia, TN., killing one person and injuring 4 others. Hundreds of homes and businesses in the middle TN area were damaged or destroyed, and roads were closed due to downed trees and debris blocking them. In response, Aerial Recovery swiftly deployed a team of 2 veterans and 3 non-veterans, including 2 members from the Heal the Heroes program. Working closely with local authorities, the team used real-time intelligence to assist with needed medical assessments and remove obstacles from roads and on homes in the hardest-hit areas, and prioritize resources effectively. In 2 days, they provided route clearance over a half-mile section of road, removed trees and debris from 6 homes, tarped 4 roofs throughout affected areas in Columbia, and conducted health and welfare checks on 6 families.
