DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND RELIEF COORDINATION FOLLOWING EF4 TORNADO
In December 2021, Aerial Recovery deployed from their home-base in Nashville, TN just a couple hours north to Mayfield, Kentucky where an EF4 Tornado ripped through the small town. The damage from the storm totaled over $3.5 billion after damaging over 15,000 buildings and killing 80 people.
Aerial Recovery deployed a team of volunteers and leadership to Mayfield, Kentucky only 48 hours after the storm to help coordinate aid with their partners at Global Empowerment Mission and other local NGOs.
Over the next several months, Aerial Recovery volunteers traveled back to Mayfield, Kentucky and surrounding towns such as Dawson Springs to help distribute aid, coordinate relief efforts, and rebuild local amenities such as the Dawson Springs Community Park.
