On October 9, 2024, Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, as a Category 3 hurricane, bringing winds of 120 mph. The storm caused widespread destruction, including severe flooding, storm surges, tornadoes, and power outages, leading to at least 14 deaths. In response, Aerial Recovery deployed eight veterans from the Heal the Heroes program alongside multiple other volunteers.
Aerial Recovery collaborated with the Florida State Guard, Global Empowerment Mission, and local authorities to provide critical relief. The team conducted multiple missions per day by foot, by vehicle, and by boat, rescuing people from flooded homes and saving multiple lives. After the initial rescue operations, the team focused on recovery efforts, including removing trees and debris and providing aid to hundreds of families affected by the storm.
