455,631 people are without food, water, and shelter tonight.
On September 30, a massive 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck central Cebu in the Philippines. The devastation is staggering, and the need is urgent.
The Reality on the Ground:
At least 72 lives lost, with dozens more injured
18,154 homes damaged, 3,507 completely destroyed
More than 6,311 aftershocks have rattled the region since the initial quake
Power outages affecting over 800,000 people across 309 municipalities
Entire communities cut off from critical resources
Right now, the Aerial Recovery team is boots on the ground, working alongside our partners at Global Empowerment Mission to deliver life-saving emergency aid directly to those who need it most.
Families are sleeping in the rubble of their homes. Children don't have access to clean water. Communities that were already vulnerable are now fighting to survive.
And, there's another threat lurking in the chaos.
History has shown us what happens after disasters strike. When Typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines in 2013, survivors were forced into exploitation as domestic servants, beggars, and prostitutes. The U.S. State Department confirms that natural disasters significantly increase Filipinos' vulnerability to trafficking due to loss of livelihood, shelter, and family stability.
This is why our mission is twofold: deliver immediate humanitarian aid AND maintain a protective presence to prevent traffickers from exploiting disaster victims when they're most vulnerable.
Every year, 225,000 women and children are trafficked in Southeast Asia. Natural disasters create the perfect conditions for this evil to thrive: families desperate for food, children separated from parents, people offered "jobs" or "safe passage" out of devastated areas. Traffickers know exactly when and where to prey on the vulnerable.
Our team isn't just distributing supplies, we're watching for the warning signs, partnering with local authorities, and ensuring that the people we serve are protected from those who would take advantage of their desperation.
Your support makes both possible. Every dollar you give today goes directly toward providing emergency food, clean water, shelter materials, and critical supplies to families in crisis, while also funding our anti-trafficking awareness and prevention efforts on the ground.
We are incredibly grateful to Global Empowerment Mission for sponsoring this initial response and making rapid deployment possible. But the need far exceeds what any single organization can handle alone. We need you with us.
This is what Aerial Recovery does: we deploy when disaster strikes, we go where others can't, we bring hope to people in their darkest moments, and we stand guard against evil that tries to exploit their suffering.
Please keep everyone affected by this earthquake in your thoughts and prayers. Every life matters. Every family deserves not just survival, but safety and freedom from exploitation.
